What began as an ambitious idea – a civic space reflecting the growing cultural pride of Sydney’s south – quickly grew into a passionate community movement. \nDubbed “The Opera House of the Southern Suburbs\,” it became a symbol of artistic possibility – shaped not just by bricks and timber\, but by the people who brought it to life. \nFifty years on\, the beautifully renovated Sutherland Pavilion stands ready to usher in a new generation of stories. As we mark this milestone\, we celebrate the legacy of those who came before and the future still to be created – a true creative homecoming where all are welcome. \nFrom underground jazz bars to packed stadiums\, our hosts for the evening may have different stages\, but they share the same hometown.
